Puntarenas

What a great nights sleep!! I woke up early because I had fallen asleep so early but it was worth it. The sun is shining so why waste the day. It is cold in the room but only because we can’t figure out how to turn the air conditioner down. What a difference. No rodents, no insects, the bathroom is only three steps away and I didn’t have to cross the path of any amphibians to get there.

How are these two worlds only two hours apart? It was 84 degree’s in Puntarenas, 71 degree’s in Monteverde and a steamy 87 degrees in Ottawa today!

Doug wasn't feeling well so I let him sleep and went for a walk.

They were doing Zumba in the street!

Can't seem to get away from the critters!

In my very beginner Spanish, this translates to it is prohibited to play rude music after 11 haha. Rudios must mean loud??

We ran into a couple of the girls (Mary Kate & Jess) from the Cloud Forest School at the bus stop. They took an extra day and went a little bit farther taking the ferry across the water to Montezuma. They said it is a very nice small town and the beaches are quiet and more private than Puntarenas.

The bus ride home was long and horrible. Douglas was still not feeling very well…ironically he got too much sun. This made for a very long journey home.

When we got home I noticed that all of the mouse poison I had put out around the house is gone. I wonder if this will be the end of our mouse problem.

Douglas and I brought the bananas inside, I’m not sure how that will go but it will at least keep the big animals off the deck. We hung them in the main building (not where we sleep)!

Anomalies:
-       The taxi to the bus station about 2Km away cost as much as the bus from Monteverde to Puntarenas which is 2 1/5 hours away. Both being less than $4
-       Coke, which is imported costs as much as a latte whose beans are grown in Costa Rica. Both cost as much as the above mentioned bus! $3
